Surgery done!

Michelle’s surgery went great! She is now in recovery and should be there for something like 45 to 90 minutes depending on how long she feels like sleeping it off. We weren’t sure whether she would spend the night here at Swedish tonight, but received confirmation that she will. I’ll try to provide more updates … Continue reading »

Liftoff (with Yoda)

Just letting everyone know that Michelle is in surgery now. Not surprisingly, she is in very good spirits. Her greatest concern before surgery was whether the doctors and nurses would be hungry since they’ll be operating on her during lunchtime. We talked about the procedure and the loss of a breast during the drive in … Continue reading »

Weekend Reflections

I’m sitting here in our new “tree house” looking at the trees and the city and thinking how peaceful our new house is. We had a wonderful, exhausting weekend celebrating the new house and, most important, Desmond’s 1st birthday. Luckily, I have the most amazing friends and family who all pitched in and got the … Continue reading »

New House

We moved into our new house yesterday!  Despite hiring movers, it was absolutely exhausting work.  But we’re 70% done unpacking and the house is amazing.  Its super quiet and serene…surrounded by trees with a lovely little view of downtown.  It will be SUCH a nice place to recover and heal.  It’s going to be really … Continue reading »

Surgery is scheduled

Hi friends and family.  Lots of good news the last few days.  Most important is we are confirmed for surgery first, then chemotherapy, then radiation.  I can’t tell you how much it helps to have a plan of attack.  Surgery is scheduled for the morning of May 17th at Swedish Hospital. I’ll stay overnight at … Continue reading »

Tired.

Hi friends & family, Today I’m feeling pretty weary.  I’m sick with another cold and have decided I’m done with this stupid cancer. Wouldn’t that be nice to just be able to walk away from stuff like this?  Anyhoo, I’ll be in better spirits tomorrow I’m sure.  Every day I find a little something that … Continue reading »

Hot looks from Bonnie D.

My gorgeous friend Bonnie (who lives in Rome and is VERY stylish) put together this “look book” for me when I start treatment.  She even said she’d make me a scarf like the deer one – maybe a kitten or unicorn form?
